Below you will find our submission guidelines. Please read before submitting and send all submissions to ceaseandcaesura@gmail.com. For an example of what we publish, you can head over to our blog. You can also find our contributors' pieces featured on our Facebook page.
What we are looking for is work that transcends limits through language, ideas, and story. We will read work on any subject. We only ask you give us your most riveting work, and lead us into the propulsive infinity that is the literary experience.

We have a strong emphasis on craft and heightened language. We do not accept hot button topic pieces that are more content driven than driven by literary excellence. In other words, we will accept political pieces, but we won’t accept them on the sole basis of being political. We yearn to find the most exquisite and breathtaking pieces of literature that have fallen under the radar.
We want to be thunderstruck by uncharted insights of the human experience. Our target audience are individuals who want a buffet of the unusual in literature, so we are asking for content that unearths the experimental, the startling, and the unconventional.

If your work doesn't fall under any of the categories listed contact us to discuss. We are open to the experimental and the compelling. We want to feature work that is challenging, and we are looking to expand to more genres soon.

When submitting simultaneous submissions, please let us know upfront if it is a simultaneous submission, and inform us as soon as it is accepted elsewhere, so we can respond accordingly.

Format of email should look like:
Title of email: Submission Title + year

Body of email for poetry should look like:
Brief two to three sentence bio followed by a list of titles for your submissions.
Please post your poems in the body of the email beneath your bio and list of titles.
For all other categories/longer pieces:
List your two to three sentence bio and please attach a word document or PDF.

We accept a variety of styles from the lyrical and ornate to the cutting and prosaic.
Submit up to 3-5 poems.
​
Longform poems should be no less than 7 pages and no more than 20 pages.
You may fall a litte below or surpass these page limits but please keep it within reason.

We are open to both poetic and literary fiction.
Short story lengths should fall between 100o-5000 words.
You may fall slightly under and over the limit.
Please keep stories between 500-750 words.
Your work may fall under the limit but not exceed it.
We are looking for the most exciting compression of language.
Stories can be either lyrical or narrative driven.
Please keep essays and stories between 500-5000 words.
Your work may fall slightly under and over the limit.
We are looking for short-form and long-form hybrid pieces.
Work may be anywhere between 3 pages and 20 pages
Your work may fall slightly under and over the limit.
